- ROBERTSON, Phyllis Joyce
Age 86, passed away at her home in Hantsport on Wednesday morning 8 April. Born in the cottage at Ward’s Mansion, Kings County, Nova Scotia, 9 January 1929 to the late Lewis H. and Mary L. (Welch) Arenburg. She and her husband Arnold celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last October 31st. Following her marriage, she lived the better part of her life in Hantsport as a stay-at-home mother helping to raise two sons. Over the years, she supported various community causes and attended the United Baptist Church. Later in life, she was attentive to older neighbours with cooking and fresh baking from her kitchen, and was known by many for her homemade donuts for participants in the Hantsport July 1st road races. Phyllis was fond of knitting, visits from friends and good music. She and Arnold had made a place in their home for her mother Mary during the latter’s last years. Phone calls from nieces in England (Betty), Ontario (Fran) and Nova Scotia were always memorable. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, an infant son, sisters, Helen Howells, Pearl Manilla, Grace MacDonald, and Viola McNealy; brother, Herbert L. Arenburg.
