- MULHALL, Ruth Enid
The family announces the passing of Ruth Enid (Cochran) Stephens Mulhall of Hantsport and Windsor on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. She was born February 22, 1920 in St. Croix, the daughter of the late Claude W. and Blanche (Sanford) Cochran. At an early age Ruth moved with her family to Windsor, where she spent the greater part of her life. Following graduation from Windsor Academy, Ruth’s family moved to the Stanley Airport during the Second World War. Ruth worked in the Chief Engineers Office. Ruth also worked in Halifax in the office at Stadacona. Following the end of the war, Ruth’s family returned to the family farm in Sweet’s Corner. Following Ruth’s marriage to Allistair W. Stephens, they made their home in Windsor and spent many wonderful summers at their cottage at Pigott Lake. For many years Ruth was a member of the Hon. H.E. Kendall IODE and held various offices in the organization. She served as President of the Hants County Cancer Society and two terms on the board of Hants County Family and Children’s Service. Ruth was a member of the UCW of Windsor United Church, and a member of Windsor Hospital Auxiliary. Ruth was fortunate to spend 14 years in Hantsport with her second husband, Bill. Many wonderful friends were made there. Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Allistair William Stephens; second husband, William F. Mulhall; brother, Dill Sanford Cochran; and infant sister, Mae Elizabeth. Private family interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.
