- HARVIE, Nina Margaret - 74, Main Street, Hantsport, Hants Co., died November 20, 1998, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born August 3, 1924, in Hantsport, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Lena (Harvey) Starratt. She was past president of Royal Canadian Legion, Lucknow Branch 109, Hantsport and past president of their ladies auxiliary. She was the only lady president in the zone. She served in Canada and overseas in the Second World War in the Canadian Women\'s Army Corps, which was on the Pathe Association news. Before being played on the news, it was shown in theatres, the first time was at the end of basic
training with Prime Minister MacKenzie King and the second time was in the Guard of Honour at Camp Aldershot when Sgt. Christina Coldwell was crowned Queen Annapolisa. She was also a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 9, Windsor. She was predeceased by her husband, Lee Albert; companion, Ernie Lawrence; sisters, Erma in infancy, Ceva Boutilier; Adora (Dora) Phillips; Winefred (Honey) MacNeil; brothers, Charles (Bus), Ralph, Herman, Victor. funeral 2 p.m. Monday, all in Lindsay\'s Windsor Funeral Home and chapel, 194 King St., Rev David Shaw officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.
