- RITCHIE, Lorna Jean - 80, North Head, Grand Manan, N.B., passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2005. Born in Pembroke, she was a daughter of the late Emery and Elsie Wilcox (Pembroke). She was predeceased by her husband, Doctor Railton G. Ritchie, as well as brothers, Avard, Willard and Stanley. Mrs. Ritchie was a Registered Nurse and worked in the Pugwash Hospital; Children's Hospital, Halifax; The Infirmary, Halifax; The Red Cross Blood Clinic, Halifax, and then moving to Grand Manan to work in the Grand Manan Hospital. She was a member of the Church of the Ascension, The Ladies Guild Church of the Ascension, served as Treasurer for several years both for the Guild and also the Sunday school, a member of the Grand Manan Seniors Club, the Grand Manan Curling Club and the New Brunswick Nurses Association. The family will receive friends and relatives in the Church of the Ascension, North Head, N.B. today from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, at 1:30 p.m. with Bishop George Lemon officiating, assisted by Lic. Kevin Frankland and Lic. Freda Large. Following the service she will be cremated and her ashes will be interred in North Head Community Cemetery with a private family committal service. The family has asked for donations to the Church of the Ascension Memorial or Building Fund.
