- We are extremely sad to announce the passing of Kenny Boyd at his daughter’s home in Poplar Grove on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the age 74. Kenny was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and true friend to many. Born November 30, 1948, he was a son of the late John and Florence (MacDonald) Boyd.
Kenny grew up in and was a longtime resident of Falmouth. As a young man, he ventured out west and was a member of the Armed Forces for several years, participating in the 1970 Montreal “October Crisis”. Kenny also excelled as a hockey player at this time. Throughout his life he was a hard worker in whatever he pursued. In addition to being a woodsman for many years, he also worked on ranches, orchards and as a pipeline labourer.
Kenny was well known to his friends as "KB". He was very generous, softhearted and always had a kind word or a smile for whoever needed it. His passions in life included fishing, vegetable gardening, cooking, tapping trees for maple syrup, reading, nature, animals and having a cold beer with friends.
Besides his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne.
A private service will be held at a later date.
