- Raymond Douglas Holmes
age 78 of Halifax, passed away on March 27, 2022. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Raymond grew up in Hantsport; educated at Acadia University, Princeton University and earned his PhD in Mathematics at Dalhousie University. He went on to teach at Acadia University in Wolfville and Dalhousie University in Halifax as Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science. Raymond later applied his expertise as a Software Engineer. He spearheaded the team at Knowledge House Publishing Limited that wrote the award-winning Patient Simulator II simulation software. He spent several years in software development for Reuters in New York, after which he moved back to Halifax for retirement.
Raymond also had many non-professional interests during his life including fencing, theater, rally car racing, flying airplanes and more, but perhaps his greatest passion was in computer games.
