    • Born in Kingston, Ont., he was a son of the late Frederick and Emma (Dixon) King. He was a veteran of the Second World War and served overseas between 1939-1945 and retired in 1963 from the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery with the rank of corporal. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 6, Kentville, and was past president of the legion in Manitoba. He also received his 50-year legion pin. He was predeceased by sister, Mary; brother, George.
