She was a resident of the Evergreen Home for Special Care in Kentville. Born in Lockhartville, she was the daughter of the late Herbert \"Arthur\" and Elise (Weagle) Smith.
In addition to being loving wife and mother of three boys, Shirley worked on the lines of Avon Foods and as a cook and baker at the former Paramount Hotel in Wolfville. As a Jehovah Witness, she enjoyed the fellowship and friends made at the Jehovah\'s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Grand Pré. Shirley loved spending time baking, tending to her flowers, shopping at Frenchy\'s and sharing time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents and husband Elmer Brown; sisters Doris Smith, Cloris Smith, and Eleanor Smith; brothers Lloyd Smith, Keith Smith and Robert Smith.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service and burial will be held on August 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Greenfield Memorial Cemetery, Greenfield, Kings Co.
