1051 MURRAY, Clarice M.
Age 84, Truro, passed away peacefully surrounded by family October 5, 2016 in Aberdeen General Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Meadowville, Pictou Co., she was the last surviving member of her family and the daughter of the late Roderick and Isabel (Elliott) Clark. Clarice was a retired teacher of 33 years and this was the joy of her life being surpassed only by the love for her grandchildren. She graduated from Pictou Academy and Truro Normal College and taught throughout Pictou and Colchester Counties, retiring from East Court Road Elementary School. She was a member of the Dorcas UCW, St. David’s United Church, member of Rebekah Lodge 15, member of the Retired Teacher’s Association and the Bible Hill Card Club for over 50 years. She loved playing scrabble, cards and doing needlepoint. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; brother, Allister and also an infant brother. Interment in Bible Hill Cemetery.

1052 MURRAY, Daniel James \'Danny\'

Age 75, of Hantsport, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 19, 2017, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor on May 9, 1942, he was a son of the late Donald and Jessie (Beattie) Murray. A lifelong resident of Hantsport, Danny was known for his musical talents and played in several local bands throughout the course of his life. The better parts of his working years were spent at CKF until his retirement. His family was his pride and joy. He was a man of compassion and integrity and always considered those in need and reached out to help others. He will be remembered for his easy conversation and quick wit. Besides his parents, Danny was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth (Cleyle); and brother, John.

1053 MURRAY, George Malcolm 'Mac'
Of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2014, in Orchard Court Shannex, Kentville. Born in Hantsport, he was a son of the late Alexander and Odessa (Frizzel) Murray and was predeceased by his high school sweetheart and wife of 63 years, Shirley Lois (Wyman) Murray. Mac graduated from the Mar­itime Business College in 1941 and immediately joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), receiv­ing his pilot wings in 1942 . Following service in the RCAF, where he served both as flying instructor in Canada and as a fighter pilot in Great Britain, he returned to Halifax in 1945 and immediately joined the public accounting firm of Nightingale Hayman as an articling Chartered Accountant (CA) student, re­ceiving his CA designation in 1950 at the top of his class. In 1951, Mac opened a branch of Nightingale Hayman on Commercial Street in Dartmouth as its sole employee. Through a series of regional and na­tional mergers and several physical moves within Dartmouth, he eventually landed at the Royal Bank Building on Portland Street. He became partner, of­fice managing partner, and eventually Senior Partner of the Dartmouth Office of Canada’s largest public accounting firm, Thorne Ridell, now KPMG. He re­tired from public practice in 1988. He enjoyed being a chartered accountant and within the profession, Mac has served on various Committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia and was an elected member of the Institute Council for 10 years, culminating with his term as President in 1960/61. He also served as Nova Scotia representative on sev­eral Committees of the Canadian Institute of Char­tered Accountants. In 1978, Mac was awarded the designation Fellow Chartered Accountant, or FCA, by his peers in recognition of his outstanding contribu­tion to his profession and his community. His greatest enjoyment and achievement was personally training and nurturing his CA students into mature, compe­tent CAs. Mac joined the Dartmouth Chamber of Commerce upon his arrival in Dartmouth in 1951, and chaired various Committees and fulfilled a term as Treasurer. As an active member of St. James Unit­ed Church, he served on both the Board of Stewards and the Session, as Church Advisor, and was Treasur­er of the Church Hall Building Fund and served as Chair of Board of Trustees. He was a member of the church for over 55 years. Mac joined the Kiwanis Club of Dartmouth in 1951, and again chaired various com­mittees and served as President in 1968. He enjoyed helping out with many of Kiwanis’ annual community fundraising events. In addition, he participated in many charitable organization fundraising drives, in­cluding having been Treasurer of the Dartmouth YM-YWCA Building Fund Campaign, Dartmouth Chairman of the United Appeal, and member of the United Appeal Advisory Board. He was Treasurer and Member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors of Pine Hill Divinity College and was a member of the Development Committee of the At­lantic School of Theology. He was also a member and treasurer of the Banook Canoe Club, and the treasur­er of the Maritime Riding School during his children’s ventures into these clubs. For many years, he was an active member of both the Brightwood Golf & Coun­try Club and the Dartmouth Curling Club and was also known as an ardent salmon fisherman and the Family Photographer. Mac was also predeceased by his brothers, Robert and John, and by his grandson, Scott Murray. Mac’s concern for family, clients, and community was demonstrated not only by his professionalism, but al­so by his constantly positive attitude, and also by the respect he showed to all those with whom he came in contact. He was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, and in turn had won the respect of all who knew him. In later years, he lived with Alzheimer’s and touched many caregivers with his easy smile and gracious nature.

1054 MURRAY, Glenna Lenora

Age 84, of Hantsport, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2016. Born January 19, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Hilda (Fletcher) Greenough. Glenna was a member of the Hantsport Baptist Church, and the Kings Daughters' Women's Group. She was an avid dancer, wonderful knitter and a cook who loved her sweets, especially chocolate.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John William Murray; siblings, Claire Tracey (Roy); Owen Bowie (Vie); Stella Hammett (Charlie); Herbert Greenough (Dorothy); Polly Baxter (Charlie); and Myrtle Haley (Stuart).

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). The family would like to welcome visitors to come by the funeral home, Wednesday, December 7 anytime between 1 pm and 2:30 pm to visit with them, in the Elmcroft Reception Centre, share stories and enjoy a light lunch. A private family graveside service will be held after the reception in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Glenna may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.

1055 MURRAY, John "Johnny Bill" - 75, Hantsport, passed away on August 7, 2006, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on August 8, 1930, he was the youngest son of the late Odessa and Alexander Murray. John was a good friend of many throughout the years, and a wonderful family man. John's home address his entire life was Avon Street, Hantsport. After a stint on the gypsum boats in his youth, John spent many years in the woods logging and working in the family lumber mill. He became a machinist and subsequently foreman for Minas Basin Pulp and Power until his retirement in 1995. John never lost his love for woodworking and he was a true handyman. He also never lost his love of the water. Ships and boats of all sizes never failed to entertain him. In his younger years John was an avid baseball fan, and he loved to fish, hunt, garden and dance! He held various positions in the Hantsport Volunteer Fire Department for more than 37 years including Deputy Chief for many years and was also a member of the Firefighters Veterans Association. He truly enjoyed the many events, friends and camaraderie of his fellow fireman throughout the years of volunteer service. John was also a director of the Valley Credit Union, Hantsport for many years. He was also a IOOF Edwards Lodge member in Hantsport since 1967. In his later years, he developed an avid interest in birdwatching and the history of Hantsport and surrounding area. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Murray.  Murray, John William (I5914)
 
1056 MURRAY, Marjorie Gertrude
Age 97 of Wolfville, formerly of Hantsport, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 24, 2013, in Wolfville Nursing Home, Wolfville. Born in Digby, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle (D’Arcy) Hutchinson. Marjorie moved to Hantsport, from Smith’s Cove, and lived with Dr. G. K. Smith and his wife Mabel, where she attended school and cared for their son, John. She continued to live in Hantsport, marrying her husband, Robert and going on to raise their family. Marjorie continued to live in Hant­sport until the time she had to tran­sition into assisted living, which first took her to the Wolfville Elms and then on to the Wolfville Nursing Home. Marjorie lovingly welcomed visits from her family and friends. She was a member of St. James United Church in Hantsport where she was an elder and a member of the U.C.W. She was also a member of the Hantsport Historical Society and the Helping Hand Rebekah Lodge, Hantsport. She was prede­ceased by her husband, Robert Murray; seven brothers and four sis­ters.

1057 MURRAY, Walter Brower — Of Kentville, died peacefully September 11, 2011, in the Palliative Care Unit, Annapolis Valley Regional Hospital. Born March 22, 1932, in New Glasgow, he was a son of Rutherford Harris (Ra) Murray and Marjorie (Merriam) Murray, both of whom predeceased him. Walter was also predeceased by his first wife, Joan (Sutherland) Mur­ray, the mother of his three children and his grandparents, Captain Walter and Eva (Kerr) Merriam of Granville Ferry and Harry and Kate (Ruther­ford) Murray of Truro. Walter had an indomitable spirit and deep sense of commitment to his family, church and community. He attended Liverpool High School (where his father was Principal) and was granted an Hon­ours Degree in Chemistry with a mi­nor in English by Acadia University in 1952. He served two terms on the Board of Governors of Acadia Univer­sity, and was a long-time member of the Board of Directors of the Associ­ated Alumni of Acadia. Walter en­joyed a long and satisfying career in the Canadian pulp and paper industry, beginning as chief chemist with the Bathurst Paper Company in the mid- 1950s. He and his young family then moved to Montreal, where he assumed the position of Director of Overseas Sales for Consolidated-Bathurst. In 1972 he returned with his family to Nova Scotia as Vice-President Mar­keting for Minas Basin Pulp and Pow­er in Hantsport. Throughout these years Walter was an active participant in the Canadian Pulp and Paper Asso­ciation, serving as Chairman of the CPPA Paperboard and Recycling Sec­tions, as well as the Packaging Associ­ation of Canada. Sports were an im­portant part of Walter’s life. He was a dedicated rugby player, Captain of the Acadia University Swimming Team (where he established intercollegiate records), and a long-time member of Ken-Wo Golf Club. Walter played and followed baseball and was a faithful member of the BoSox nation to the end of his life. His love of athletics carried over to his work in the community. Among other activities, he coached the Wolfville Tritons swimming team for a period of time, and helped orga­nize the first Sea Cadets group in Hantsport. Music was a passion throughout Walter’s life. He played trumpet in the Acadia University and the Chester Brass Bands, was a boy chorister at Trinity Anglican Church, sang tenor in the Acadia Chorus, was leader of his own band in Bathurst, N.B., and organized numerous variety shows and entertainments for worthy causes in the communities in which he lived. He was a long-time member of the choir at St. John’s Anglican Church in Port Williams. Age 86 of Avonport, Kings Co., passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born on February 6, 1931, in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Nathan and Dorothy (England) Myles. He was predeceased by brothers, Donald, Stanley, Robert, Budd, Keith \'Mickey\' and Cecil; sisters, Betty and Hilda. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A service, officiated by Rev. Gary Manthorne, followed by a reception, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, at 1021 Bluff Rd., Avonport. This is the lighthouse property of his nephew, Raye Myles where he enjoyed many wonderful times camping, watching the sunsets and the breathtaking view of the Avon River and Minas Basin.

Born in Kentville on August 29, 1965, he was a son of Vernie Myles, Hantsport and the late Carol Myles (1995). Phillip attended school in Avonport, Hantsport and Acadia University. He had been employed as a Tech Agent with Sykes. Phillip enjoyed spending time with Jason and Justice, reading, movies and baking, especially chocolates. He loved his dogs, Drake and Bailey. A private family burial will take place in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.

Born in Grand Pré, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Nathan and Dorothy (England) Myles. He worked as a milk truck driver with Lloyd King and was later employed with Halliburton Farms, from where he retired after 30 years. He had a passion for oxen and was a member of the Hants County Oxen Association. He enjoyed hunt­ing, fishing, gardening, snowmobiling and playing pranks on friends and family. Col. Evan Ross
New Cumberland, PA: Col. Evan Ross Davison, U.S. Army Ret., 82, of New Cumberland, PA, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp. He retired as a U.S. Army Colonel and was a veteran of the Pacific theater in WWII, the Korean War, and two tours of duty in Vietnam. Among many honors for his military service, Ross was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, the Legion of Merit (twice) and various campaign service medals.
Following his Army career, he worked for the former Dougherty and Twigg Real Estate Company which then became Jack Gaughen Realtor. He attended St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, and was a member of the Military Officers Assn. of America; the Chartier Club of New Cumberland, West Shore B.P.O.E. Camp Hill; Riverview Golf Course, New Cumberland, Harrisburg Foreign Policy Assn; and was a 25-year volunteer and former president of West Shore Meals on Wheels. Ross obtained his BS from Syracuse University and MBA from Babson College in MA. Born in 1925 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, he was the son of the late Ernest C. and Christine (Ross) Davison, and was the first in his family to become an American citizen.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce M. Schneid Davison; five sons, Paul M. of Newburyport, MA, Mark C. (Mary) of Webster, NY, Peter E. (Melanie) of Pittsford, NY, John W. of New Delhi, India; James A. (Lenka) of Prague, Czech Republic; two brothers, Rev. E. Burton Davison of New Paltz, NY, and William G. Davison of NY, NY; eight grandchildren, Paul, Christopher, Kathleen, Casey, Matthew, Rebecca, Sara and Jakub.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11AM Tuesday in St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, with the Rev. J. Michael McFadden as celebrant. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Viewing will be held 6 to 8 PM Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the scripture service beginning at 6:30 PM.

1070 Neil Morrell Lockhart, 80, of Hantsport, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor with his family by his side. Born on March 2, 1938 in Wolfville. He was the eldest son of the late Murray and Nellie (MacIntosh) Lockhart.

Neil left school at the age of 16 and started working at plastering and masonry throughout the valley and Nova Scotia. From 1970 -1990 he owned and operated Neil Lockhart Developments Ltd building and selling 72 homes in Falmouth and the surrounding area. He did fire restoration work for several insurance companies and owned and operated Tideview Auto Sales Ltd. from 1990-2007 as he was not one to set idle, he spent his retirement buying and selling campers. His greatest joy was his family. His family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Paige Stevens; the Palliative Care unit of the Hants Community Hospital and brother, Jimmy for all his help throughout Neil’s illness.

Predeceased by brother, Jack; sister-in-law, Glenda (nee: Harrington) Lockhart; Beatrice (nee: Flynn) Walsh; Evelyn (nee: Demmings) Walsh; Noreen (nee: Davison) Walsh; brothers-in-law, Paul Walsh, Richard Walsh; nieces Jacqueline, Andrea; nephew, Kerry Lockhart.

1072 NEWCOMB, Laurie Edward — 81, Hantsport, Hants Co., passed away June 5, 2012, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born May 23, 1931, he was a son of the late Frank and Es­tella (Greene) Newcomb. Laurie was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 34 years, an IOOF Lodge member, a former Scout Master, and a member of the Hantsport School Board. He worked at Minas Basin Pulp and Pow­er Co. for 41 years, and was an avid gardener, fisherman and hunter in his spare time. 1073 NEWCOMBE, Richard Bruce "Dick" - 72, Curry's Corner, Hants Co., passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2006, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on February 11, 1934, in Windsor, Hants Co., he was a son of the late George and Anna (Waite) Newcombe. Dick was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force for several years, worked for over 40 years for US Gypsum as an engineer on the gypsum boats out of Hantsport and ended his career as Chief Engineer of the Gypsum company's tugboats "Otis Wack" and the "Spanish Mist" out of Hantsport. He was an avid sportsman during his youth and continued to play fastball into his 40s. Dick was a 36 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Hants County Branch No. 009. He appeared as an extra in the 1962 motion picture "Mutiny On The Bounty" which was filmed in Tahiti and his picture was featured in an article in National Geographic on the filming of the movie. In retirement, Dick enjoyed watching his Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Blue Jays, and playing cribbage on Monday night at the Windsor Legion. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, the former Glenna Haley. He was predeceased by brother, George. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Newcombe, Richard Bruce (I3537)

1075 Norman Allen Matheson
Age 95, of Hants Border, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2022, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on April 13, 1927, in Glen Tosh, Cape Breton, he was the youngest child of the late William and Catherine (MacAskill) Matheson. Norman was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Norman’s early life was spent growing up on a farm. He was a student at the Gaelic College in St. Ann’s, Cape Breton in 1938, the first year it opened. His first job was working as a sawyer in a sawmill, then he moved on to other odd jobs at Ross Ferry, later attending business college in Sydney. Upon moving to Halifax, he began his career there with the Nova Scotia Provincial Government Department of Lands and Forests as a bookkeeper. During this time, he spent his weekends hitchhiking back to Cape Breton to visit home until meeting and marrying his wife, Doris. They resided in the Halifax area for several years and started their family. Later, Norman relocated to Hants Border in 1970 and was later transferred to Kentville. He was a part of the NSGEA and upon retirement in 1988, joined NSGREA and served as a benefits rep. He played a role in setting up Region Six, of which he was an executive member and on the nominating committee and early Vice President.

Norman was a long-time member of St. John’s Presbyterian Church in Windsor, where he was on many church committees. He became an elder in 1984 and served as a representative elder from 1985 to 2012. Norman also enjoyed several years as a Lions Club Member in Hantsport.

Norman had a love for watching curling and hockey and making trips to games with friends. He was a lover of fiddle music, travelling, spending time visiting with family and friends, and he enjoyed a good feed of lobster and red wine.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by wife, Doris (Wilcox); daughter, Glenna Lee in infancy; sisters, Annie (DJ) MacDonald and Jessie (Donald) Ross; brother, Dan Alex (Donna) Matheson.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Valley Regional Hospital, as well as Norman’s many other doctors over the years, especially at the Hantsport Collaborative Practice.

1076 Norman Kenneth Murphy, age 102, of Mt. Denson, Hants County, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle. Born on March 3, 1915, in Simpson’s Corner, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Harold and Mary (Marks) Murphy of Tangier, Nova Scotia.

Dad started out working as a lobster fisherman alongside his father in Tangier. He moved to Mt. Denson as a young man and worked on the Dakeyne Farm and the Davis Farm. He was one of the first mail carriers for the area. The bulk of his working years were spent at Avon Foods in Hantsport, where he was a foreman for 35 years, from which he retired. After he retired he became a flea market enthusiast and repaired many bicycles and lawn mowers. He thoroughly enjoyed this time tinkering in his shed. After 69 years of separation, Dad was reunited with some of his biological family and enjoyed many visits with his brother, Bernard Hyson and his family and met other members from his Hyson family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Mary; his wife of 66 years, Frances (Moore) (2005); sons, Danny (1982) and James (2014); grandson, Todd (2014); and great-grandson, Billy Cleveland (2007).

1077 NORMAN, Cameron Jeffrey \'Jeff\'

Jeff’s family is heartbroken to announce his passing on Saturday, January 4, 2020 after a very brief illness. Born May 25, 1957 in Bridgewater, to Kay (Parsons) and Lloyd Norman. Jeff lived at various times in Liverpool, Fredericton, North Sydney, Halifax, Truro, Kentville, and Windsor. He eventually settled and raised his family in Barrington, but always considered Windsor home, eventually retiring there in 2011. After graduating from Acadia University with his Bachelor of Education, Jeff began his 29-year teaching career. He started in the Core French Program in Berwick and then helped start the Elementary French Program in Shelburne County. After 10 years, he transitioned into a regular classroom. Jeff also taught in the High School Driver’s Education program, helping many students earn their license. Jeff cared deeply for all his students and kept in touch with many of them over the years. Jeff enjoyed spending summers at his beloved cottage in Cheverie, where many fond memories were made with family and friends. Many of Jeff’s culinary creations are as infamous and renowned as his prolific story telling ability. His \'Norm-isms\' will surely be missed. He had a keen interest in motorsports and all things automotive. He was passionate about his vehicles and loved to share his enjoyment of them with others. He had a keen interest in fine watches and could usually be found wearing two from his collection at any given time. Even in retirement, he took great joy in helping out two days a week at his granddaughter’s school to help educate on the perils of bullying. He had endless compassion for people and animals, always ready to lend a hand or ear as necessary. He was predeceased by parents Kay and Lloyd Norman (of Windsor); grandparents, Gladys and Arthur Parsons (of Windsor) and Hannah Belle and Augustus Norman (of St. John’s, N.L.).

1078 Noted Mi’kmaq basketmaker and Second World War veteran Noel Abraham (Abe) Smith, died at age 92 in Windsor (born in Berwick, 1917). In 1991, he was featured with his wife Rita on CBC television and also in an NFB film called Kwa’nu’te that profiled the artistry and skill of their basket-making craft. 1079 O'Rena Mae Keeble (Hutchinson)

Age 100, North River/Bible Hill. It is with profound sadness that the family of O'Rena Keeble announces her passing on November 6, 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro after a brief illness at the age of 100. She was born in Lockhartville, Kings Co. on February 25, 1920 to the late Kenneth and O'Rena (Smith) Hutchinson. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Keeble; sister, Marjorie West; brother, Waldo Hutchinson; and son-in-law, Murray Forbes. Mom loved cooking family dinners and a good game of cards. She was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Maple Leafs. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Born in Centre Bur­lington, she was a daughter of Bea­trice (Card) Hoyt and the late Leslie Hoyt. Marilyn was a tireless worker in her community, especially for Kempt United Baptist Church and Summer­ville Volunteer Fire Department since its inception. She was well-known for her dedication, her determination, her guidance, and her devotion to her fam­ily, who were the jewels in her crown. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 11, at 2 p.m. in Kempt United Baptist Church, Summerville, Lic. Born December 23, 1930 in Hantsport, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Winifred (Brown) Millett. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey; son, Lynn; sister, Mary Smith; brothers, Orland and James. 1089 OICKLE (Barkhouse), Maude Irene

Age 83 of Hantsport, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 22, 2019 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Hantsport on January 9, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Captain Charles and Florence (Fields) Barkhouse. Maude worked at the Hantsport Juice Plant and Canadian Keyes Fibre for years. She was a member of Avon United Church. In her spare time she loved playing cards, doing the Friday Lexicon in the paper, going for walks with friends and especially her visits with family. Maude was predeceased by her husband, Ivan; brothers, Charles Barkhouse, Fred Scott, John Scott, Cecil Scott and George Scott; sisters, Susie Starratt and Aileen Best. The family would like to say thank you to the staff of the Annapolis Valley VON branch for their care given to Maude.

Age 73, of Liverpool, passed away February 2, 2015, in Queens Gener­al Hospital with Eileen Blair, his lov­ing companion, by his side. Born in Brooklyn, Queens Co., he was a son of the late Owen Freeman and Naomi Kyra (Conrad) Oickle. David spent his working life at Bowater Mersey Paper Company retiring as mill sta­tistician. He was a member of the Nova Scotia Archery Association in the 1980s and a member of the White Point Golf Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte (Nickerson) and brothers, Ivan and Murray. At Dave’s request, there will be a graveside memorial service in Zion United Cemetery, College Street, Liverpool for family and friends later in the spring.
