    It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlotte Fay Johnson (Maynard), age 94, of Hants Border, on June 19th, 2023, in the Hants Community Hospital.

    Born January 16th, 1929, at the family home in McKay Section, NS, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (Caldwell) Maynard.

    Charlotte graduated from Normal College, Truro, NS and spent her entire career teaching. She taught in various one room school houses and eventually after moving to Hants Border spent the remainder of her career teaching Special Education at LE Shaw, Avonport, NS.

    In retirement Charlotte spent time volunteering in her community whether it was at the Food Bank, Church, ACW or Matthew 25. She especially enjoyed camping with Atwood, card games with her sisters and friends, making quilts for family or to donate to those in need.

    Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Atwood Johnson; infant daughter Faith Elaine; brothers Max, Hugh and Laurie Maynard.

    A graveside service will be held in the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Upper Rawdon, on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 11 am.
