YOUNG, David Hale

On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, surrounded by his family, Dave passed away peacefully in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on Easter Sunday, April 9, 1939, he was a son of Edward Cecil and Marjorie (Sheehan) Young. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Marion (Gordon) Reid and Carolyn (Joseph) Baff. He was a very intelligent, passionate and giving man, offering a \'notable\' sense of humor to all who knew him. He was a devout Catholic, his faith being of extreme importance in his life, and was involved with many organizations within the church. Dave was a graduate of Wolfville High School and later graduated from Acadia University, earning his BEd and years later, his Masters. He taught at Wolfville High, later becoming a Guidance Counselor within the Hants County School Board. He was Superintendent of Schools for many years and then succeeded as Inspector of Schools in Kings County until retiring in 1994. He was a devout Boston Bruins fan, and throughout the years accumulated paraphernalia of his favorite hockey team.
