    MacINNIS, Keith Allen

Age 86 of Hantsport, passed away on November 25, 2018 in Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Hantsport, he was the son of the late Alfred and Vera (Levy) MacInnis. Keith had many skills. He renovated his three homes. As well, he was talented in things as varied as model ship building and furniture refinishing. He had a love for the water and was proud that he sailed on the maiden voyage of the Gypsum Duchess in 1957. He also sailed all along the Eastern Seaboard, on the gypsum boats, as far south as Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. In his later years, he watched the boats sail in the Avon River from the window in his 'Recovery Room' at his home in Hants Border. He loved swimming in the 'medicinal' waters of the Avon River with his friends The Beach Boys. Before retiring in 1998, he was the janitor at Hantsport School. Besides his parents, Keith was predeceased by infant daughter, Theresa Anne; sister, Alicia Dauphinee; brothers, Ronald and Chesley. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 28th, at 11 a.m. in the Wolfville Funeral Chapel.

Keith married Joyce Rosalind Janet Grizzella Watson. Joyce (daughter of William Wallace Watson and Laura Tanner) was born in 1934 in St. Croix, Hants, Nova Scotia; died on 13 Mar 2024 in VRH, Kentville, Kings, Nova Scotia; was buried in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, Hants, Nova Scotia. Joyce MacINNIS — Hantsport

It is with profound sadness that we share with you the passing of Joyce MacInnis, age 89 of Hantsport (or “Mawsie” as she was known to all she cared for), on March 13, 2024. She now rests in the care of Serenity Funeral Home, www.serenityfuneralhome.ca, after her peaceful passing in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in St. Croix, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Laura Watson. “Surrounded by her loving family, we held our mother, our grandmother, our great-grandmother, our Mawsie. We laughed through our tears and listened to her one last time, she was the heart and soul of our family.” Mawsie will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, her strength and courage, her unwavering love, and her chocolate bar drawer. She faced life’s challenges head on with grace and resilience. As an educational assistant, she found happiness being our “Mawsie” to other children. “Rest in peace dear Mawsie, you will be deeply missed and your love will forever guide us.” In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Keith; brothers, Norman, Herman, and Leslie; sisters, Annie and Nellie; and a daughter in infancy, Teresa Anne. A private interment will be held in the Riverbank Cemetery at a later date.
