McCULLY, Doreen Jean \'Buddy\'
Age 83, of Falmouth, formerly of Hantsport, Hants Co., passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2015, in Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born on February 14, 1932, in Moncton, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Hilda (Livingston) Dixon. Buddy was a graduate of Halifax Children’s Hospital in 1954. Although never making a career of nursing, she used her skills to raise five children. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross, IODE and UNICEF. Buddy was a member of Hantsport Baptist Church and she enjoyed travelling with Len and family in the trailer and to many parts of the world. Besides her parents, Buddy was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Douglas \'Len\' McCully; brothers, John and Walter Dixon. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation, by request. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, March 30 in Hantsport Baptist Church (corner of Main and Willow Streets), Rev. Debra Mosher officiating, assisted by Rev. Mark Hunter. Private family interment will be held in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, followed by a reception in the Church Fellowship Hall. Donations in memory of Buddy may be made to the IWK Health Centre Foundation, PO Box 9700, Halifax NS B3K 6R8 or Hantsport Baptist Church.
