    William George "Bill" HUGHES — Gaspereau

    Age 84 of Gaspereau, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kent-ville. Bill grew up in Avonport. He was the last surviving son of the late Bicycle Racer/Veteran, Charles Hughes and Vera (Rose) Hughes. Bill was 18 when he left home to pursue an education and career in California. He resided there until he was 65 before returning to the valley. Bill enjoyed warm weather, gardening, the Chronicle Herald, crosswords, current events, golf and chatting with his friends at the Coffee Club. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Vera (Rose) Hughes; brothers and sisters-in-law, Burton (Lois), Wilfred (Ginnie) and Earl; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Harvey (John) and Jean Sharp (Fred). A family graveside service will be held at a later date in Willow Bank Cemetery. Donations may be made to Avonport Baptist Church or Gaspereau Baptist Church.
