LYNCH, Henry \'George\'

Age 78 of Mount Denson, passed away in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Born in Carleton Corner, Annapolis Co., he was a son of the late George W. Lynch and Elsie M. (Reese) MacDonald. In 1958 George joined the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps serving in Transportation/Logistics retiring as a Warrant Officer in 1984 at Camp Debert. In his retirement, he went on to work in real estate and car sales. George was an avid birdwatcher and he was a collector of single malt scotches. He was an active Mason for over 30 years having served in several offices for Kentville Lodge No. 58 including Worshipful Master, Welsford Lodge No. 26 and as a Grand Steward for the Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia. He was active in the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite - Valley of Halifax, Annapolis Valley Scottish Rite Club and the Order of the Secret Monitor. He was also a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Hants County Branch No. 009, Windsor. George was predeceased by his wife, Lois Rose (Hiltz) (June 27, 2018); son, Kevin; mother-in-law, Daisy Hiltz; father-in-law, Clayton Hiltz; sister, Barbie Fife; brother, Harold MacDonald.

LYNCH, Lois Rose

Age 75 of Mount Denson, passed away peacefully in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Tuesday, June 27, 2018. Born in Selma, Hants Co., she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Daisy (Peach) Hiltz. Lois attended Nova Scotia Normal College where she achieved her teaching degree and taught in Hants, Kings and Halifax counties before the family was transferred to various military bases across Canada and the United States. She worked for many years at Avon Valley Floral. Lois had a passion for puzzles, bird-watching, hosting family gatherings and holiday dinners for decades and admiring the outdoors from her deck and sunrooms. A graveside service for Lois will be held in Mount Denson Cemetery on Tuesday, July 3rd at 2 p.m., Pastor Craig Faulker officiating.

Clayton married Daisy Margaret Peach. Daisy (daughter of Alonzo William Peach and Zeda Howe Meister) was born on 4 Jul 1917 in New Ross, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia; died on 22 Mar 2015 in Windsor, Hants, Nova Scotia; was buried in Mount Denson Cemetery, Hants, Nova Scotia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

HILTZ, Daisy Margaret
Age 97 of Windsor, formerly of Mount Denson, Hants Co., passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on July 4, 1917 in New Ross, she was a daughter of the late, Alonzo and Zeda (Meister) Peach. Daisy graduated from Yarmouth School of Nursing then she went to Rhode Island for further training returning to nurse in Nova Scotia. Predeceased by her husband, Clayton; grandson, Kevin Lynch; sisters, Marion Taylor, Freda Hartt, Irene Faulkner; brother, Aubrey Peach.

Alonzo married Zeda Howe Meister on 27 Dec 1916 in New Ross, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Zeda (daughter of Judson Meister and Mary Rafuse) was born on 3 Sep 1896 in New Ross, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia; died on 1 Nov 1997 in Windsor, Hants, Nova Scotia; was buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, Nova Scotia.
